Fountain of hope from Sunan

Being in Margodadi Seyegan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, the fountain had become a sacred place for the community there. There are several buildings around this spring. Among these two spring to bathe, one mosque, and some heritage buildings to store goods. Place called Tuk Si Bedug.

A day ahead of Ramadan, thousands of people come here. They do not just roads, but also wants inner and outer self purification. Here they pray and cleanse themselves by bathing in the pond this spring. This tradition is called padusan.

Padusan none other than the symbol cleanse themselves of impurities in the hope of beginning to run fast with inner and outer purity. Usually, this Padusan tradition carried on in public baths and natural springs. For example in Klaten, there is one of the springs and named Clark Tulung, in Boyolali Pengging that no other there is a pond not far from the site of Surakarta Palace.

While in Sleman, there are some places that have been consecrated as a sacred bathing place. In addition to Si Tuk Bedug two other places visited by the public the day before fasting, ie in Wedomartani Ngemplak Umbul Displays, and Umbul Klangkapan in Margoluwih Seyegan.

Among the three water sources that, indeed the most special is Bedug Tuk Si. Understandably there is a legend here that links Tuk Si Bedug with Sunan Kalijaga. This is not an arbitrary figure, he is one of the Wali Songo which recalls the story of his life at all times by Muslims in this country.
Javanese people believe, Sunan Kalijaga been in Margodadi Seyegan. At that time, Sunan Kalijaga on the way to spread the teachings of Islam. Releasing tired, Sunan rest under a big tree. Happened to coincide with the schedule of Friday prayers, Friday Pahing precisely.

However, Sunan not find the source of water for ablution in the region. Then, Sunan pray to God, and stuck his stick into the ground. Miracles happen, water gushing from tancapan wand.

It is believed, this is water that never dry until today. Later in the call Tuk Si Bedug, which is exactly the source of water coming out of a stick tancapan Sunan happen at this time Dhuhr drum. Original form only in the form of endless swimming out of water. Beginning in 2001, established a number of buildings here.

From this story also born ceremonial Tuk Si Bedug which is held every year on Friday in the month of Jumada Pahing Late in the Javanese calendar. Implementation for three consecutive days. This is as a form of gratitude and a sincere expression of gratitude from the community here.

They believe, Tuk Si Bedug that help make the blessing for Sleman. It is also of the Tuk they irrigate the fields and the fields where they grow crops. And, this pond never dried must Sleman was hit by drought. Nan clear water continues to flow.
So no wonder if people even believe in the sanctity of himself when bathing here. Even believed also that of Si Tuk Bedug holy water flowing so hopefully will be fortunate padusan according to their expectations.

That is why, the people who visited this place not only from Java Island alone, as well as from other areas outside Java. Thus, if before the fasting month, to be able to shower in here should be in line.

Needless to furrowed brow to understand things like this, because this is about one's beliefs. So be free to analyze. In the Al-Quran and Hadith should not have found this course to welcome the month of fasting.

Nevertheless, no one questioned and mempertentangkannya. This is a custom and habit. Instead they will feel less afdol if conducted without running the procession of religious fasting that is considered sacred.
